Creating a Farm Logo

Back to the theme of starting a business is a daunting task...Creating a logo has been a time consuming and stressful challenge. First, I am not very creative and certainly not tech savvy enough to create a logo myself. The internet provides opportunity for this and I know other regenerative farmers have used Fiverr.com to create logos. So I thought I would give it a try and see what happened.

Seasonal Broiler Production

As much as possible we strive to work with nature. For Carver Family Farms LLC this means that our Cornish cross broilers should not be raised in the winter. In Central Virginia, birds will not thrive outdoors on pasture in the months of December-March. For that matter, July and August present many challenges as well.

What the future holds...

Chickens are considered the “gateway farming enterprise.” ‘Enterprise” just means animal or product. Now that we have opened the gate, I wanted to share my vision of what comes next.

Why Pastured Poultry?

Pastured poultry includes chickens: laying hens and meat birds; turkeys; ducks; geese; and more. Our focus is on Cornish Cross meat birds. There are benefits to each species and we anticipate expanding in the future. Chickens raised on pasture are happier and healthier birds, they provide healthy, nutrient dense protein, and they improve the soil/land.

Starting Carver Family Farms LLC

Starting a farm is a daunting task! Nevertheless, it is something I feel called to do. How did I get to this point? I have loved animals and agriculture for my entire life. I grew up on 40 acres in Central Florida with orange groves and cattle pastures. I experienced 4-H and FFA and I couldn’t get enough. But now, more than 20 years later, I live in Virginia (not on a farm) and work in an office.
